Strap in, astronaut wannabe! Your mission: tune the rocket ship using the controls at the bottom. Try to minimize the total average Trajectory Error and Fuel Efficiency shown in the lower left. The green line is your target trajectory.
One way to tune the rocket is to disable gravity with the GRAV button, switch to Manual via the AUTO button, drag the thrust to the maximum, and return to AUTO mode. Observe the response as the rocket moves toward the target and adjust the tuning accordingly. (Note: Disabling gravity or Auto mode disables scoring.)
This is a double integrating process (Gp = 0.3333 %PV / %OP • sec2; θ = 400 msec) and typical tuning rules do not apply. Lean on the fundamentals, and with the right approach, you’ll quickly have the rocket flying on the desired trajectory... at least until one of those celestial bodies throws you for a loop.
